A state fee shall be paid for the review of an application for an activity licence as follows:

  • 3,300 euros for operating as a financial institution. No state fee will apply for the review of an application for amendment of the authorisation (State Fees Act § 269).

  • 345 euros for other types of activity licence. No state fee will apply for the review of an application for amendment of the authorisation (State Fees Act § 269).

In the payment description, please indicate the following: “Application for the authorisation by the Financial Intelligence Unit”, and add the name of the undertaking.

If the application for performing the act was withdrawn before being reviewed, the application for performing the act was not reviewed or if the state fee was overpaid, the payer has the right to seek a refund of the excess.

Sign the application digitally and send the signed container to [email protected]. In the subject field please specify: “Riigilõivu tagastamise taotlus” (Application for refund of state fee)

The Estonian Financial Intelligence Unit shall make the decision regarding refund of state fee and shall refund the state fee within 30 calendar days of receiving the application.

The right to a refund expires two years after the end of the year in which the state fee was paid.

Refund of state fee is regulated by the State Fees Act (§§ 12-15).
